6.2 – Me and My Family

My name is Ben. I’m currently 12 years old. I’m the middle child, of five kids. I’m also the most different. You see, I’m a witch. My half-older sister Leia is a fairy, and so is my younger half-brother and sister Boba and Rey. My half-older brother, Yoda, who’s older than Leia, is a vampire.

Neither of my “parents” are witches. Well, okay… my mom is a fairy and my “dad” is a vampire. My actual dad, biologically, is a witch. He’s also where I got my hair color from. My eyes and skin color are from my mom.

My half-siblings don’t seem to mind, much. My “dad” cried when he found out, and my uncle (who’s married to my biological dad) was… well… outraged. Mostly at my mom. They fought a lot now, a lot more than they used to. I mean, they hated each other before, but now… things were a LOT worse.

By a lot worse, I mean that my mom and uncle fought constantly. So did my uncle and my biological dad, and sometimes my uncle fought with my mom’s husband… although my uncle would be the one yelling at him, and he’d just be crying. I didn’t understand why.

”Ben, sweetie, I have something to tell you. As soon as you become a teenager, you’ll be going to a special school. A school for supernaturals. I want you to behave, alright?” My mom asked me.

It was almost my birthday, when I’d become a teen. I didn’t quite understand the significance of the school, but I decided to not voice any complaints. I wanted to make my mom happy with me.

”Alright, Mom. I’ll behave.”

We moved to a different town, and my uncle and biological father, as well as my half-brother Azrael, moved out of the house soon after. My mom, dad, and half-siblings all took potions to… make them human.

Mom had two more potions for the younger twins, when they grew up. I was going to be the only supernatural in the house.

6.1 – Escape

The one thing that I wanted, was to escape.

After Mom had the twins, Boba and Rey, I was mostly ignored.

Everyone was so surprised that Rey had Dad’s hair, and eyes that came from several generations ago. My mom’s, mom’s mom. At least, one of them. My uncle explained to me that my mom’s mom had two moms, and the one that Rey got her eyes from, was an elf. I didn’t really believe him.

Mom ended up growing up a few years later.

Then she told me the truth. She told everyone the truth. The person who I thought was my dad? Yeah, he wasn’t my actual dad.

The only thing I wanted to do was escape.

5.18 – Children

When Ben aged up, it was obvious that he looked just like me and his dad. My eyes and skin tone, and his dad’s hair.

When some of us were eating the cake, everything was quiet. I was hoping that Ben’s dad wasn’t suspicious, but I’m sure he was.

Ben seemed to spend a lot of his time playing chess on the computer. He really seemed to enjoy it a lot.

Eventually it was Azrael’s birthday, and he looked like a good combination of his parents.

This was also around the time that we sold Cream.

Of course, I decided it was time for hopefully the last child.

Yoda grew up a few months later, and he looks very handsome, in my opinion.

5.17 – Family Issues

Somehow, Yoda had figured out Ben’s actually parentage. I was absolutely denying it at every turn, not wanting his father to find out.

”Mom, come on, I won’t tell Dad, honest,” Yoda kept reassuring me.

I shook my hands, “I don’t completely trust you.”

”Mom! I won’t tell! I just want to make sure that you will tell his actual dad at some point, and Dad, and Ben,” Yoda looked up at me.

I sighed, “I’ll tell them. Probably when he’s a child.”

”Thank you, Mom…” Yoda sighed, and quietly walked upstairs.

It was a few months later, when my nephew Azrael was born. He was named after the god of death in Islam and some Jewish traditions. Obviously, he’s absolutely adorable and precious.

Yoda seems to really like to play with the dollhouse. Sometimes he’ll play with Leia, or even Ben. It makes me happy to see the kids get along well.

Of course, Ben loves his blocks more than anything. Not that there’s much for him to do at the moment.

To finish off the quiet day, I read Yoda to sleep, promising that I would tell everyone soon.
